HFSP Long-Term Postdoctoral Fellowship

  • Description: Applicants with a Ph.D. in a biological discipline, who will broaden their expertise by proposing a project in the life sciences which is significantly different from their previous Ph.D. or postdoctoral work.
  • Duration: 3 Years.
  • Eligibility: HFSP PDF Eligibility.

HFSP Cross-Disciplinary Postdoctoral Fellowship

  • Description: Applicants with a Ph.D. from outside the life sciences (e.g. in physics, chemistry, mathematics, engineering or computer sciences).
  • Duration: 3 Years.

  • Deadline: Second half of August.

EMBO Long-Term Postdoctoral Fellowship

  • Description: The EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships are awarded for a period of up to two years and support excellent postdoctoral researchers in laboratories throughout Europe and the world. International exchange is a key requirement.
  • Duration: 2 Years.

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Individual Global Fellowship

  • Description: Individual Fellowships (IF) are a great option if you are an experienced researcher looking to give your career a boost by working abroad. They offer exciting new learning opportunities and a chance to add some sparkle to your CV.
  • Duration: 3 Years.
  • Eligibiligy: Fund positions outside Europe for researchers based in the EU or associated countries. The researcher has to come back for one year to an organisation based in the EU or associated countries.
  • Deadline: Early September.

Simons Postdoctoral Fellowships in Marine Microbial Ecology

  • Description: The Simons Foundation invites applications for postdoctoral fellowships to support basic research on fundamental problems in marine microbial ecology, with an emphasis on understanding the role of microorganisms in shaping ocean processes, and vice versa.
  • Duration: 2-3 Years.
  • Eligibiligy: Applicants should have received their Ph.D. or equivalent degree within three years of the fellowship’s start date. Preference will be for applicants with no more than one year of postdoctoral experience. Applicants may be citizens of any country. Awards can only be issued to nonprofit research universities or research institutions in the U.S.

NSF Postdoctoral Research Fellowships in Biology

  • Description: The Directorate for Biological Sciences (BIO) awards Postdoctoral Research Fellowships in Biology (PRFB) to recent recipients of the doctoral degree for research and training in selected areas supported by BIO and with special goals for human resource development in biology. The fellowships encourage independence at an early stage of the research career to permit Fellows to pursue their research and training goals in the most appropriate research locations regardless of the availability of funding for the Fellows at that site.
