Protists, la principal font de diversitat genòmica en eucariotes

Abstract

Microbial communities enmeshed in a matrix of macromolecules, termed as biofilms, are the natural setting for many microorganisms. Protists are abundant and active predators in biofilms, where they can have major impacts on bacterial community composition and function through selective grazing. In this review, we focus on protists as consumers of biofilm bacteria and discuss the ecological consequences of these interactions.
