Morphological Identification and Single-Cell Genomics of Marine Diplonemids

Abstract

Recent global surveys of marine biodiversity have revealed that a group of organisms known as marine diplonemids is among the most abundant and diverse of all marine microeukaryotes. Despite their ecological importance, very little was known about their biology. Here we describe the morphology and genomics of several marine diplonemids, placing them in a phylogenetic context.
